Andrew plays outdoors, and then paints inside.

When Andrew descends the stairway to his studio, the lifelong ritual he’s created is brought to life. His inspiration is drawn from images, colours and textures moving through space, to create these rich, luminous paintings.

There is a story here, of private discoveries in remote bits of rural Canada – they are modern landscapes created on urban refuse. Despite their warm tones, these pieces aim to bring light to the toll human existence is taking on the planet, and the mark we leave behind when we visit these precious places. Each painting is an intimate look at the challenge we face and the natural love we have as citizens in our modern society.
