Tatau. The Polynesian word for tattoo. Five or so years ago, Brian Tremblay embarked on a project to photograph tattoos in a classical atelier style. The images are not just about the tattoo but the context of the skin, texture, muscle, and sinew of the body that bears the art. When Brian started this project he didn't have any tattoos - now he has three. With his initiation into the "inked" he has become part of the exhibit.
